The National Federation of Cypriots in the UK urges each member of our community to ensure that they have registered to vote by Tuesday 26 November. If you have not registered to vote before this deadline you will not be able to vote in the General Election on Thursday 12 December. We also encourage you to remind your family and friends to register to vote as well.

Federation President, Christos Karaolis said: “The UK Cypriot community must make its voice heard during this election campaign and I urge everyone to ensure that they are registered to vote by midnight on Tuesday 26 November. The most important thing is that the community goes out and votes on Thursday 12 December and urges their friends and family to do the same. I also encourage UK Cypriots to be active in the election campaign and support candidates who are friends of Cyprus and our community, for example by canvassing for them. There are candidates standing for election that have asked questions and spoken about Cyprus in Parliament; attended and supported our events; actively shown that they support a free, united Cyprus based upon a just and viable solution to the Cyprus issue; and have campaigned against the Turkish occupation.”

If you are unsure about which constituency you are in, the Parliament website has a useful webpage that allows you to enter your postcode and then finds your constituency: https://members.parliament.uk/constituencies

Did you know? Cypriot citizens living in the UK are also entitled to vote in the upcoming election, as Commonwealth citizens. So if you are a Cypriot citizen, please register to vote via the link below, and make sure that you vote on December 12th.

It is important that the UK Cypriot community registers to vote and goes out to vote on Thursday 12 December. If the Cypriot community exercises its vote, politicians will take notice and do more to help our community. Our vote is our voice!
