This week, approximately 1200 presents arrived at the port in Limassol from the UK. This was part of a charity initiative organised by NEPOMAK UK (the UK branch of NEPOMAK – The World Federation of Young Overseas Cypriots).

On 17th December, children and teachers at St Maron’s School in Anthoupoli welcomed Thalia Antoniou representing the Presidential Commissioner of Cyprus, Executive Manager of Caritas Cyprus, Elizabeth Kassinis and two NEPOMAK volunteers, Maria Lazarou and Harry Charalambous who delivered the gifts.

NEPOMAK UK collaborated with Greek schools and the community across the UK in a united effort to donate presents to less fortunate children in Cyprus, with the aim to spread joy over the festive period.

The two UK volunteers worked with Childsmile, Gift of Love (Paphos), Caritas Cyprus (Larnaca, Nicosia and Paphos), KISA and Kofinou We Care to deliver presents to hundreds of children across several locations around Cyprus. NEPOMAK’s presents included items such as school supplies, warm clothing and small toys.

Participating in this joyous occasion symbolised the importance of the link between Cypriots of the diaspora and those who live on the island.
