SUMMARY:Walking through the Kingdom of Salamis – A Presentation by Anna Marangou
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an unforgettable evening of history\, memory\, and storytelling. \n  \nCelebrated archaeologist and art historian Anna Marangou presents her latest work\, the evocative trilogy Walking through the Kingdom of Salamis\, brought to life through the photographic projections of Petros Fiakkas. The event will feature reflections from Dr. Yiannis Toumazis\, Director of the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation and former Deputy Minister of Culture. \nSpanning thirty-seven centuries of Cypriot history — from prehistoric Enkomi and glorious Salamis to Hellenistic Arsinoe\, Byzantine Constantia\, and the vibrant 20th-century city of Varosha — this deeply personal work is a tribute to a land steeped in memory. More than a historical account\, the trilogy is an emotional journey\, a folk historiography and an elegy for Famagusta. It is a blue box of stories\, images\, and remembrance — a call to preserve the soul of a place that refuses to be forgotten. \nAs Anna Komnena wrote in 1148: “The word of History becomes a mighty barrier against the currents of time.” \nWe look forward to welcoming you to this inspiring evening of words\, images\, and shared memory. \nReserve your spot: click here.

SUMMARY:Letters to Freedom / Γράμματα εἰς Ἐλευθερίαν
DESCRIPTION:A theatrical monologue in Greek with English supertitles \n\n\nThree performances across the UK – Summer 2025 \n\n\nA woman enters the stage holding letters written long ago — the final words of young Cypriots sentenced to die during the 1955–1959 EOKA struggle for liberation. Yet these letters speak not of death\, but of life. Of love for mothers\, for children\, for homeland. Of freedom — not as a symbol\, but as something worth becoming. \n\n\nLetters to Freedom is a poetic and moving theatrical monologue built on authentic farewell letters\, testimonies and poems. As each letter is read\, the woman — once a simple messenger — is transformed. On stage\, memory becomes presence. Stillness becomes ritual. And through her\, Freedom finds its voice. \n\nPresented by the Cultural Section of the Cyprus High Commission in collaboration with the National Federation of Cypriots in the UK \n\n\n\nCreated by: \n\n\nConceived\, Curated & Directed by: Marios Theocharous \n\n\nSpace & Costumes: Thelma Kassoulidou \n\n\nOn Stage: Athena Savva \n\n\n\n\n\n📍 LONDON \n\n\n🗓 Thursday\, 3 July 2025 | 🕖 7:00 p.m. \n\n\n📌 Greek Cypriot Brotherhood2 Britannia Rd\, London N12 9RU \n\n\n\n\n\n📍 CARDIFF \n\n\n🗓 Saturday\, 5 July 2025 | 🕧 12:30 p.m. \n\n\n📌 Greek School of Cardiff2 Greek Church Street\, Cardiff CF10 5HA \n\n\n\n\n\n\n📍 BRISTOL \n\n\n🗓 Sunday\, 6 July 2025 | 🕧 12:30 p.m. \n\n\n📌 Greek Orthodox Church of St. Peter & Paul Lower Ashley Road\, Easton\, BS5 0YL \n\n\n \n\n\n\nIn Greek with English supertitles \n\n\nDuration: Approximately 45 minutes \n\n\nAdmission: Free (ticket reservation required) \n\n\nReserve your free tickets here: Letters to Freedom / Γράμματα εἰς Ἐλευθερίαν

SUMMARY:Relocations [Μετακομίσεις] - Day Visit Tickets & Artist-Led Curated Tours
DESCRIPTION:Day Visit Tickets | Cyprus House\, 13 St. James’s Square\, London SW1Y 4LB Open Monday–Friday | 10:00 AM–3:00 PM (last entry) Final day: Wednesday 12 June 2025Extended evening hours on Tuesday 11 June until 7:00 PM \n\n\n\nStep inside a world of richly layered narratives\, personal mythologies\, and emotional landscapes with RELOCATIONS [ΜΕΤΑΚΟΜΙΣΕΙΣ]\, a compelling solo exhibition by Zenon Jepras\, presented at Cyprus House in London. \n\n\n\nWhether you missed the opening or simply want time and space to immerse yourself in the paintings\, these day tickets allow you to experience the exhibition in a quieter setting. \n\n\n\nBorn in Wales to Greek parents from Cyprus and Corfu\, Zenon Jepras draws on themes of memory\, displacement\, identity\, and resilience. His large-scale works trace a journey that began with a family road trip in the summer of 1974 — the same summer Cyprus was invaded — carrying with them not only belongings\, but layers of emotional and historical resonance. \n\n\n\nEach painting is an act of unpacking — stories told through colour\, form and texture\, reflecting both personal and collective experience. \n\n\n\nWhether you are interested in contemporary art\, diasporic narratives\, or Mediterranean histories\, RELOCATIONS is a moving and thought-provoking exhibition that speaks to our times. \n\n\n\nAdmission is free\, but booking is recommended to help manage visitor flow. \n\n\n\nArtist-Led Curated Tours \n\n\n\nSelected Weekdays | 1:00–2:00 PM | May 21 – June 12\, 2025 Free entry – registration required \n\n\n\nJoin artist Zenon Jepras for a unique\, guided experience through his exhibition RELOCATIONS [ΜΕΤΑΚΟΜΙΣΕΙΣ]. These tours offer an opportunity to explore the work in conversation with the artist\, who will share the personal\, historical\, and symbolic layers embedded in each painting. \n\n\n\nDrawing from his own journey — from a family road trip in the summer of 1974 to the broader themes of exile\, memory\, and belonging — Jepras offers insight into the visual language and emotional textures that shape his work. These intimate sessions allow audiences to engage more deeply with the themes of the exhibition and understand how personal and collective histories intersect on canvas. \n\n\n\nTours are informal and conversational\, allowing for questions and discussion throughout. Whether you’re familiar with Jepras’ work or discovering it for the first time\, these guided visits promise to enrich your experience of the exhibition. \n\n\n\nSpaces are limited. Early booking is recommended. \n\n\n\nExhibition open Monday–Friday\, 10:00 AM–3:00 PM (last entry)Extended hours on Tuesday\, 11 June\, until 7:00 PM

This special screening will take place at Cyprus House\, London\, on Monday 12 May 2025\, marking the official launch of this year’s festival. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe evening begins at 6:00 PM\, as doors open with a screening of a selection of short films from The Myths of Cyprus\, directed by Mark Kassinos and produced by the Press and Information Office of Cyprus.
