Alternatively\, please contact the ORMC ((UK) office. \n  \nBelow is the Press Release from the CMP: \n  \nCMP (Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus) visit to the UK with the objective to obtain and enrich information regarding our missing persons. \nThe aim of our visit to the UK is to obtain information regarding the missing persons who went missing during the events of 1963-64 and 1974. The information aimed to be obtained includes the possible burial sites or location of disappearance of the missing persons. In order to achieve that\, it is important to meet with the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot community of the UK from whom many are well informed of the tragic events that took place in Cyprus.  This is an opportunity for the two communities to meet and share information with us but also learn about the humanitarian role of CMP. \nThe Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP) is a bi-communal body established in 1981 by the leaders of the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities with the participation of the United Nations. The objective of CMP is to establish the fate of missing persons. It seeks to recover\, identify\, and return to their families\, the remains of the missing persons. \nThe Representative of the Greek Cypriot Community on the Committee of Missing Persons in Cyprus Mr. Leonidas Pantelides and the Representative of the Turkish Cypriot Community on the Committee of Missing Persons in Cyprus Mr. Hakki Müftüzade will be in attendance along with Mrs Angeliki Anthousi (Investigation Coordinator at the office of the Greek Cypriot Member) and Ms. Selin Orek(Investigator at the office of the Turkish Cypriot Member). Οι πληροφορίες που επιδιώκουμε να ληφθούν περιλαμβάνουν τους πιθανούς τόπους ταφής ή την τοποθεσία εξαφάνισης των αγνοουμένων. Για να επιτευχθεί αυτό\, είναι σημαντικό να συναντηθούμε με την ελληνοκυπριακή και τουρκοκυπριακή κοινότητα του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου από την οποία πολλοί είναι καλά ενημερωμένοι για τα τραγικά γεγονότα που έλαβαν χώρα στην Κύπρο. Αυτή είναι μια ευκαιρία για τις δύο κοινότητες να συναντηθούν και να μοιραστούν πληροφορίες μαζί μας αλλά και να μάθουν για τον ανθρωπιστικό ρόλο της ΔΕΑ. \n  \nΗ Επιτροπή για τους Αγνοουμένους στην Κύπρο (ΔΕΑ) είναι ένα δικοινοτικό όργανο που ιδρύθηκε το 1981 από τους ηγέτες της ελληνοκυπριακής και τουρκοκυπριακής κοινότητας με τη συμμετοχή των Ηνωμένων Εθνών. SUMMARY:Rizokarpaso Folk Costumes: a unique cultural dress code
DESCRIPTION:Nasa Patapiou will present historical data about Rizokarpaso\, the occupied small town and study the reasons of development of this unique and unmatched cultural dress code at the far end of the Karpaseia peninsula. The Lecture will take place on June 8th and it will be held in Greek. \n  \nΟΙ ΛΑΪΚΕΣ ΕΝΔΥΜΑΣΙΕΣ ΤΟΥ ΡΙΖΟΚΑΡΠΑΣΟΥ\nΔιάλεξη της ιστορικού-ερευνήτριας Δρος Νάσας Παταπίου  \nΗ ομιλήτρια θα παρουσιάσει ιστορικά στοιχεία για την κατεχόμενη κωμόπολη Ριζοκαρπάσου και θα εξετάσει τους λόγους για τους οποίους αναπτύχθηκε στο άκρο της χερσονήσου Καρπασίας αυτός ο ιδιαίτερος και μοναδικός ενδυματολογικός πολιτισμός. Επιπρόσθετα\, θα γίνουν αναφορές από πότε το Καρπάσι (Carpasso ή Carpasse στις πηγές επί Λατινοκρατίας) μετατρέπεται σε Ριζοκάρπασο (Risokarpaso) και γιατί ολόκληρη η χερσόνησος με την προφραγκική/βυζαντινή ονομασία από Ακρωτίκη μετατράπηκε από τους Φράγκους και υιοθετήθηκε στη συνέχεια και από τους Βενετούς σε Carpasso ή Carpasse\, που αργότερα αποδόθηκε στην Ελληνική με το όνομα Καρπασία. \nΣτη διάλεξη\, επίσης\, θα αναφερθούν οι λόγοι εξαιτίας των οποίων αυτές οι λαϊκές ενδυμασίες διατηρήθηκαν και μέχρι την τουρκική εισβολή και κατοχή του 1974.
