On Tuesday 31st October, the National Federation of Cypriots in the UK Executive Committee
was delighted to host a working dinner with Greek Ambassador Yannis Tsaousis at the Greek
Cypriot Brotherhood.
The Executive Committee and the Ambassador of Greece exchanged views on various
important issues, including the latest developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, the promotion
of national issues, the maintenance of the Cypriot issue on the political agenda, the further
involvement of community members in political parties in the country we live in, as well as paths
forward for teaching the Greek language in the UK. There was also a constructive discussion
about the upcoming elections in the UK. It was emphasised that the Federation will continue to
support MPs who have shown that they work towards a free, united Cyprus, regardless of
political party.
Federation President Christos Karaolis remarked that “The friendly working dinner was an
important opportunity to welcome Mr Tsaousis to the U.K. and exchange views on a variety of
issues. We look forward to our continued close cooperation during the term of his
appointment.”
