Earlier this month, we launched our #HandsOffCyprus email campaign to mark 52 years since the beginning of Turkey’s illegal invasion and occupation of Cyprus. Thousands of emails have now been sent to more than 50% of all MPs in the House of Commons. There is still time to send yours and push your MP to action on Cyprus. The more emails an MP receives, the louder our community’s voice is heard!

Our message this year is that the UK must do everything possible to get Turkey back to the negotiating table for a solution to the Cyprus issue that is based on the agreed UN framework and is in line with international law and the EU acquis.

Federation President Christos Karaolis thanked the community for supporting our #HandsOffCyprus campaign so far and added, “Every year we reach more than 50% of MPs with our message of a Free, United Cyprus. This tells each MP that we, as the UK Cypriot community, are as committed as ever to a solution to the Cyprus issue. We must continue our efforts to spread the message that Cypriots want to see the end of Turkey’s illegal on-going occupation.”
