Postponed – A Celebration of Cyprus
September 17, 2022 @ 6:30 pm
£70Along with the rest of the nation, we were deeply saddened to hear the news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday 8 September.
Given this period of mourning and after careful consideration, we will not be holding our ‘Celebration of Cyprus’ event as planned on Saturday 17th September. However, the President of the Republic of Cyprus has expressed his strong desire to return to London for this event as soon as possible and we are already in discussion with his office to establish a new date for this event. We will inform you when a new date is confirmed and we hope that you will be able to join us.
We express our apologies for any inconvenience caused by the event’s postponement, and thank you for your support and understanding.
About this event
In 2020 the Republic of Cyprus celebrated its 60th anniversary, a historic occasion for a young, democratic country. The National Federation of Cypriots in the UK had planned a Gala Dinner to mark this occasion which, unfortunately, had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Two years later, we are proud to be hosting ‘A Celebration of Cyprus’ with H.E. the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, as the Guest of Honour in the final few months of his Presidency.
The Gala Dinner will be an occasion for our vibrant diaspora to celebrate both the independence of Cyprus, as well as the immense contribution of the 300,000 Britons of Cypriot heritage.
