About
The Midlands Greek Cypriot Association was founded in 1974 and moved to the community centre in Erdington in 1983. We offer various facilities to support the Greek and Cypriot community in the Midlands and to promote Hellenic culture within the region; from our traditional Taverna, our Banqueting Suite, our Greek School and our Orthodox Church.
The Association gained exempt charitable status from HMRC in 2008 thus enabling it to claim gift aid on the valuable donations that it needs to maintain its presence in the UK’s second city. As a not for profit organisation the organisation is dependent on the work of volunteers and charitable donations to keep it going.
The community centre, known to frequent users as the ‘estia’, has a wealth of facilities including a café, restaurant, Greek schools, outdoor football pitches, card & backgammon tables, full size snooker and pool facilities, and the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity and St Luke. The Midlands Greek Cypriot association hosts regular charitable and community events.
Everyone is welcome to the community centre, you’ll be greeted with open arms and made to feel at home. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the Midlands Greek Cypriot Association.
