UK Government settles case with Cypriots who said they were tortured

The UK Government has settled a case with Cypriots who said they were tortured whilst in detention during the ‘Cyprus Emergency’ of 1955-59. It will pay an estimated £1M damages to 33 Cypriot pensioners.
