The Federation’s 2023 #HandsOffCyprus e-campaign has concluded with thousands of British citizens contacting their local MPs about the Cyprus issue. Voters from 392 (60%) constituencies asked their MPs to advocate for a free, united Cyprus and to reject Turkey’s plans to illegally permanently partition the island (see map with highlighted areas). MPs from across the country have responded to the emails with clear statements of support on the Cyprus issue, advocating for a a bi-zonal, bi-communal federal solution based on the UN framework and the return to negotiations.

Federation President Christos Karaolis thanked the community for reaching out to their MPs. Mr Karaolis said, “We should all be inspired by the achievements we make as a diaspora, working together through a collective and grassroots campaign for a free, united Cyprus. To reach over a majority of MPs every year since the launch of #HandsOffCyprus is a historic feat, and we thank everyone who participated this year in helping us reach this goal.”
