The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, discussed issues of importance to the UK-Cypriot diaspora with the National Federation of Cypriots in the UK during a meeting at the Presidential Palace.

The President of the Federation, Christos Karaolis, described the meeting as “excellent”. He noted that issues concerning the Diaspora in the United Kingdom were discussed, in particular the campaign for a solution to the Cyprus problem.

He also said that specific issues facing the UK-Cypriot community after Brexit and the key difficulties they are facing were highlighted.

Finally, Mr. Karaolis said that they considered ways to strengthen the relations between the UK Diaspora and the Republic of Cyprus.

Also in attendance were Deputy Government Spokeswoman, Doxa Komodromou; Director of the Press Office of the President of the Republic, Victor Papadopoulos; Federation Vice-President, Ninos Koumettou; Federation Treasurer Bambos Charalambous and Federation Executive Secretary, Andreas Karaolis.
