This month, we launched #HandsOffCyprus 2025 to mark 51 years since Turkey’s illegal invasion and occupation of Cyprus began. The e-campaign aims to send a strong signal to the UK Government to do everything possible to get Turkey back to the negotiating table, on the basis of the agreed UN framework, to deliver a free, united Cyprus. This message has now reached over 50% of MPs thanks to our community’s efforts and participation.

Over 325 MPs have now received emails from their constituents, however we can continue to do more. With over 50% of MPs newly elected, Turkey’s continued push for partition and a renewed momentum to restart negotiations, this year’s campaign is critical to raise awareness among MPs.

If you haven’t sent our automated email to your MP yet, now is the time to make your voice heard – email your MP via the links below and ask them to speak up for a free and united Cyprus. The more emails an MP receives, the more they will take notice. If your MP is a friend of Cyprus, take the opportunity to thank them. If you already have sent your email, take the next step and share this email or the campaign link (https://cypriotfederation.org.uk/mp/) with friends and family across the UK.

Click on the here to take you to our online form – it takes less than 30 seconds to send an automatic email.

Federation President Christos Karaolis thanked the community for supporting the #HandsOffCyprus campaign so far and added, “In recent years, we have shown that the most effective way of making MPs engage with the Cyprus issue is by demonstrating that their constituents remain committed to the issue. It shows the strength of our voice and belief that year after year we reach more than 50% of MPs with our message of a free, united Cyprus. We need to maintain this momentum and redouble our efforts to spread the message. In addition to filling out the form yourself, you can maximise the spread of our message by sharing the link to the form on your social media accounts and directly with your friends and family.”

We have already been sent a large number of positive responses from MPs reiterating their unequivocal support for a free, united Cyprus, showing just how effective emailing your MP is. If you’ve also received a response from your MP about the Cyprus issue, please to share it with us: [email protected]
