Representatives of the Executive Committee of the National Federation of Cypriots in the UK laid wreaths across Barnet, Enfield and Haringey, as part of the official services for Remembrance Sunday, on behalf of the UK Cypriot community.
These services were in remembrance and honour of all those who gave their lives for our freedom in World War I and subsequent wars. Among this number are the 30,000 Cypriots who fought in the Cyprus Regiment in World War II and the Muleteers in World War I.
The Remembrance Day services were led by The Worshipful Mayor of Barnet, Councillor Edith Ngozi David; The Worshipful Mayor of Enfield, Margaret Greer; The Worshipful Mayor of Haringey; along with Bambos Charalambous MP, representatives of the respective councils, Armed Forces, emergency services and the Salvation Army Band.
