Aphrodite: The Making of a Goddess

In anticipation of the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology’s landmark exhibition Aphrodite – The Making of a Goddess, opening in autumn 2026, we are delighted to host a special evening reception at the Cyprus High Commission in London.

The exhibition will be the first major UK exhibition to explore the story of Aphrodite—from her mythical birth on the island of Cyprus to her many representations across the ancient Greek and Roman worlds and beyond, as well as her influence on art and culture through to the present day. Featuring significant national and international loans, The Making of a Goddess will trace the story of one of the most iconic and beloved figures in classical mythology.

This evening offers invited guests the opportunity to hear directly from the curators about the vision and scope of the exhibition, while enjoying a festive reception in the elegant setting of the Cyprus High Commission.
