Cutting of the Vasilopita at the Greek Cypriot Brotherhood

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to welcome this year’s New Year 2023, at the Greek Cypriot Brotherhood Britannia Road – North Finchley – London N12 9RU – Tel: 020 8445 7070. We would be delighted to have you with us at the traditional ceremony for the Cutting of the Vasilopita on Sunday 15th January 2023 at 3.15pm, with your family members, to remember the occasion together the old and unforgettable customs and traditions of our beloved Cyprus.

The royal cake will be blessed and cut by His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain in the presence of representatives of the Cyprus High Commission.

The choir of the The School of Byzantine and European Music of the Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain, under the direction of The Very Revd Protopresbyter Joseph Paliouras, will sing carols and other traditional Christmas songs by the well-known poet Vasilis Panayi.

We look forward to welcoming New Year 2023 with you and wish it to bring peace to the world and freedom to our Cyprus.
